QUEER STORIES FROM TIBET IN EXILE

QUEER STORIES FROM TIBET IN EXILE

FRI 17 APR (Visy Theatre)
In an Australian exclusive, hear from renowned Tibetan filmmaker Tenzin Tseten Chokley, as he shines a light on the ongoing situation in his homeland and the experiences of LGBTIQ+ Tibetans in Tibetan exiled communities.

Best known for his ground-breaking documentary film Bringing Tibet Home, New York based Tseten will also discuss his latest film project.

While attention is frequently paid to social inequalities and injustices, there is very little visibility and awareness for LGBTIQ+ Tibetans and their identities often get forgotten in the dialogue.

Hosted by community arts leader Lenine Bourke, this event will also feature an opening performance by Festival of Tibet director Tenzin Choegyal, accompanied by cellist Katherine Philp.
