Venue : Visy Theatre $30  Con $25

Brings together four of Australia’s finest multi-cultural collaborators in a highly original interpretation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Using selected readings, musical meditations. and sound illuminations this theatrical and profound musical experience provides an insight into how we can prepare for the mind’s release from the body and the experiences of ‘the between’.

The Bardo Thotrol (The Great Liberation through Hearing in the Between)  was composed by the great Guru Padmasambhava in the 8th century. It was buried in central Tibet and rediscovered in the 14th century. First published in the west in 1927, it is arguably the most popular Tibetan Buddhist text and has been reinterpreted in scholarly works, film, and song by luminaries including Chögyam Trungpa, Sögyal Rinpoche, Robert Thurman, John Lennon, and Leonard Cohen.
